The second official DLC for the fourth installment of the popular grand strategy game series by Paradox Interactive. As the title suggests, the expansion is focused on the economic aspects of the gameplay, which manifests through the significantly expanded trading system, among other things. The players have several new economy mechanics at their disposal.

Wealth of Nations is the second expansion (after Conquest of Paradise) for Europa Universalis IV. It focuses on the economic aspects of the gameplay, namely: trading which was significantly expanded. The expansion was developed by Paradox Interactive. Wealth of Nations requires the original game installed in order to work.

The expansion introduces a few new mechanics connected to the economy. You may now secretly plot to sabotage trade diplomacy and negotiations between countries which leads to breaking contracts and stopping the trade between your competitors. There is also the possibility of hiring corsairs to sabotage the foreign trade and rob the ships of your competition. It is also possible to strengthen your trade by making one of your ports the trade capital of your country. Moreover, nothing stands in the way of forming the East India Company in order to conduct big-scale trade activities.

Because Wealth of Nations in merely an expansion, it does not introduce any changes to the game engine called Clausevitz 2.5. It means that the system requirements remain the same.

The innovations introduced by Wealth of Nations may also be used in multiplayer mode.
