Edgar - Bokbok in Boulzac belongs to the genre of classic adventure games. This is the debut of the independent La Poule Noire studio, founded in 2018.
Plot
The game tells the story of middle-aged Edgar, who goes everywhere with his best friend, a chicken. The hero is a loner and lives on a farm away from prying eyes and a small Boulzac. When creating the town, the creators were inspired by French villages.
An unexpected catastrophe, which led to the destruction of the crops, forces the eccentric Edgar to leave his home. He sets off on a journey to the town of Boulzac, where he discovers a mysterious conspiracy and witnesses further bizarre events. Surrealistic adventure provides 2-5 hours of gameplay.
Mechanics
The mechanics of the game in Edgar - Bokbok in Boulzac is very simple. It consists mainly of interacting with objects, solving simple puzzles and talking to NPCs.
The main element of the production, however, are not complicated riddles characteristic for classic point'n'click adventure games. The game focuses on the narrative side and exploration of the surreal world of the game, discovering its secrets and learning about the stories of bizarre characters.
Technical issues:
Edgar - Bokbok in Boulzac offers a cartoon-like, game-fitting graphic style. The locations are filled with small details, and the appearance of the characters is sometimes exaggerated, which fits into the comedic setting. During the game we also hear an atmospheric soundtrack
