Earthblade is another game developed by the creators of Celeste and TowerFall: Ascension from the independent studio Extremely OK Games. This 2D platformer takes us to a mysterious world with plenty of places to explore and enemies to defeat.

Earthblade is a 2D platformer set in a fantasy world made in a pixel art style. It's another game of this type from Extremely OK Games studio, which became famous thanks to TowerFall: Ascension and, above all, enthusiastically received Celeste.

Mechanics

Earthblade is a side-scrolling platformer in retro style. We observe the action from the side, and the character we control moves left or right. We have to make sure that the character avoids all the obstacles, either being a part of the level or enemies. Unlike the classic representatives of the genre, Earthblade focuses much more on combat and exploration, and the game world has an open structure. In this way, the game comes closer to modern 3D platform games such as newer installments of the Mario series and metroidvania games.
