Dungeons & Kingdoms is a production on the border between action RPGs and strategy games. It was developed by the independent studio Uncle Grouch Gaming, which has the game We Are the Universe in its portfolio, while its release was handled by Camlann Games.

Plot

Dungeons & Kingdoms takes us to a fantasy world inspired by the Middle Ages and allows us to take on the role of the leader of a small group of refugees. After escaping from their hostile homeland, our character and their entourage settle in a new place, where they intend to start everything from scratch. Our task is to ensure that they succeed.

Gameplay

In Dungeons & Kingdoms we watch the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). The gameplay is based on two pillars, the first of which is building a prosperous settlement, starting with the very basics. For this purpose, we gather resources that serve us to produce useful tools, as well as to build based on a modular system, allowing for the creation of structures from several hundred unique elements.

In addition to this, the game allows us to adapt to unique needs and preferences of the terrain. We can achieve this by digging ditches, clearing forests or leveling large areas of land for agricultural fields. These last ones, like the hunts we can go on, are a source of sustenance for both us and other characters.

We are not doomed to do it all alone. In the new homeland, we are accompanied by settlers who can replace us in many activities - from field work to construction. Their role becomes extremely important primarily when we decide to make use of the second pillar of the game - we can throw ourselves into the whirl of adventures, exploring the fantasy land and discovering its secrets, as well as facing the dangers lurking in it.

Armed with a sword and a shield or even a large two-handed hammer, we can face wild beasts, bandits roaming the roads or invaders attacking our settlement. Dynamic battles are not only an opportunity to hone combat skills, but also allow us to increase the safety of our village. In search of even stronger sensations, we can go to various dungeons and temples that are habitats of various creatures. It is worth the risk, as dragons and other beasts guard access to the most valuable loot.

Graphics

The graphic design of Dungeons & Kingdoms was created using low poly technique (which means it is based on clearly visible polygons). The game offers a day-night cycle, as well as changing seasons.
