The third and final episode of Duke Nukem. The title Prince follows a crazy scientist, Dr. Proton, who has hidden himself in the future, where he creates a powerful army of Techbots.
The plot of the Duke Nukem game is divided into three parts, each of which is a separate fragment of the main character's struggle with his arch-enemy. In Duke Nukem: Episode 3 - Trapped in the Future, developers from Apogee Software took care of the great final of the skirmish, in which the fate of the Earth is at stake.
In the earlier two parts of Duke twice forced Dr. Proton to flee - first from the city of Shrapnel and then from his secret base on the moon. However, the mad scientist managed to escape from the Prince and with the use of a time vehicle he shifted into the future, where he prepares the army of Techbots for the conquest of Earth. The main character sets off with another, this time the final mission of crucifying Proton's plans....
Like Shrapnel City and Mission: Moonbase, Trapped in the Future is about jumping over obstacles, avoiding traps and exterminating enemy robots with weapons found along the way. The only significant difference is the industrial appearance of the location. The whole action is shown from a 2D view characteristic for classic platformers.
Duke Nukem: Episode 3 - Trapped in the Future is the culmination of a three-part game. The work of Apogee Software does not bring to one's knees in terms of the quality of the audio-visual setting, which even in its time did not make a great impression, but it is more than compensated for by the captivating plot and interestingly led main characters.
