Dreamscaper

Dreamscaper is a surrealistic game combining elements of action RPG and rougelike, inspired by The Binding of Isaac series. Afterburner Studios is responsible for its creation.

Plot

Dreamscaper's plot focuses on a girl named Cassidy, who suffers from depression. The player's task is to keep the heroine alive and help her overcome negative emotions.

Mechanics

Dreamscaper is divided into two segments. The first one takes place during the day, when players focus on learning the plot, building relationships with NPCs and unlocking and developing their abilities. The second one takes place at night and is a confrontation with the nightmares of the protagonist.

In the night segment of the game we explore surrealistic dreams connected with the experiences of the protagonist from the previous day. Each subsequent dream takes place on a unique map filled with various equipment, tasks and puzzles. During Cassidy's exploration, she also encounters a variety of opponents who reflect her dark thoughts. The combat takes place in real time and has an arcade character. In addition to weapons, the protagonist also uses many magical abilities based on reality control.

During the game, the protagonist can also gain allies who will support her in the fight. But be careful, because their death is permanent.
