DREAMO is an adventure logic game created by the Polish independent studio Hypnotic Ants. The title was created mainly for virtual reality sets, but is also available in a version that does not require a VR.

DREAMO is an adventure and logic game from Hypnotic Ants, a studio founded in 2017 by developers who have worked on such productions as Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The team has established cooperation with Carbon Studio (ALICE VR), which acted as a publisher. The title was designed primarily for VR sets, but a separate non-VR version has also been prepared.

Plot

DREAMO is a game focused not only on logic puzzles, but also on narrative. We take on the role of Jack Winslow, a renowned pharmacologist who has been in a coma since a plane crash that nearly took his life. Dr. Tara Moreau is here to help him. The pharmaceutical company, for which the hero worked is in possession of technologically advanced tools, able to access Jack's mind and memories. Together with Dr. Moreau, we try to discover and combine the memories trapped in the so-called artifacts, exploring the peculiar world of dreams, in order to break Jack free from coma.

In three chapters of the story we discover fragments of memories, blocked in the character's subconscious, learning the meaning and consequences of moral choices made by Jack Winslow.

Mechanics

As we travel through a dream, ever-changing and relatively open world, we have to solve almost 30 different puzzles called artifacts. They have been designed in the form of three-dimensional cubes, on the surface of which we have to adjust movable cogs. Solving each one brings us closer to the ultimate goal - Jack's awakening from coma. Although the game is geared towards relaxing entertainment, more demanding gamers have a challenge mode, in which they can test their logic thinking skills to a greater extent.

Technical aspects

DREAMO is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and features colorful, eye-catching visuals with very vivid locations. The game was designed in such a way that it offers both a stand-alone PC version and one aimed at VR users. The game supports the following goggles: Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift S and Oculus Quest.
