Dragon Quest Rivals is a card game developed by Square-Enix. The game was first released on mobile devices and it was later available on PC Windows. The action is set in a fantasy world of Dragon Quest – a bestseller jRPG series that was established in 1986.

Mechanics

Dragon Quest Rivals, available on AND, PC and iOS, was inspired by games such as Hearthstone or Magic the Gathering. During the game players participate in turn based one-on-one fights and use their own card decks with pictures of characters and enemies known from other entries in this series (such as Huser from Dragon Quest X or Camus and Martin from Dragon Quest XI); each of the characters has their unique abilities. The goal is to reduce enemy's health bar to zero, which allows us to win a fight. Making progress allows us to get more cards – which increases our battle potential.

Technical aspects

Similarly to other Dragon Quest games, the graphics in Dragon Quest Rivals are high quality thanks to the use of manga style and vivid colors. It should also be mentioned that warriors, whom we can summon on a battlefield, are vey-well animated and attacks are accompanied by great visuals.
