A mix of puzzle, action and board game genres from Bird Studio. The title is based on a classic anime, based on the manga created by Akira Toriyama. Players must create an undefeated team of heroes that will win against all adversaries. Gameplay is based on two pillars, the first being unique battles that focus on combining groups of colorful Ki balls.

Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle is a mobile game set in the Dragon Ball Z universe. It combines elements of action game, logical game and board game. The title was developed by Bird Studio, Shueisha publishing house, and Toei Animation and was released by Bandai Namco Games. Dokkan Battle is available in a free-to-play model on AND and iOS mobile devices.

Mechanics

The essence of Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle is to build your own team of heroes and fight against increasingly stronger opponents. The game is divided into two main parts. When we don't fight, we move our character on a board, where we can not only meet enemies but also find money and a lot of useful items. The fights are done in a rather unusual way - our task is to combine colorful Ki orbs into groups. Depending on the type and number of orbs connected, we will deal a specific amount of damage. The attacks are accompanied by spectacular combat animations. We also charge various special attacks that deal greater damage and can change the outcome of battles. The whole is complemented by a relatively simple character development system and typical collector's elements, thanks to which we unlock (or buy for real cash) new cards with familiar heroes.

Game modes

Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle can be played in a single-player mode but the game requires a constant internet connection. However, the real fun starts when we decide to play with friends. Thanks to the built-in social options, we can invite other players - this gives us additional points and adds a new member to our team. In addition to fighting the opponents led by artificial intelligence, we can also challenge other players.

Technical aspects

As befits an official game set in the Dragon Ball universe, Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle offers colorful graphics, reminiscent of the anime original. The game includes locations, characters, attacks, and animations, as well as the original Japanese voice-overs so that all fans of the series will feel at home while playing the game.
