Doom & Destiny Advanced Description
Doom & Destiny Advanced for AND, WP and iOS is a representative of the jRPG genre. The game, inspired by high-profile console titles of the genre, was developed as a joint effort between Italian developer HeartBit Interactive, and Benjamin Ficus Production. The mobile edition was released a few months after the debut of the PC edition.
Plot
The game takes place in the same universe as the first installment. However, the story begins before the events of Doom & Destiny, and takes place in a completely different reality. The group of nerdy friends – Nigel, Mike, Johnny, and Francis – begins a session of their favorite RPG that takes them to a fantasy universe. This time, the legendary heroes have to stop Solomon Steele – an evil-minded business man who wants to conquer the world through his ruthless startup.
Mechanics
Doom & Destiny Advanced offers around 15 hours of gameplay. While exploring the world, the player has the opportunity to visit around 500 varied locations, and complete hundreds of quests, not all of them story-viable. The game sports a dynamic, turn-based combat system, inspired by Final Fantasy series, and a complex character development module. We’ve received 15 character classes (e.g. warrior, mage, thief, cook), 22 cosplayer outfits that endow the heroes with new abilities, and over 150 special skills.
Technical Aspects
The game also introduces a cross-platform multiplayer mode. It allows PvP combat on a special Arena, and completing the story campaign with other players. It should be mentioned that the game is constantly expanded. The developers prepare monthly updates which expand the story by introducing new missions, side quests, and events. The audio and visuals are inspired by classic titles from 8 and 16-bit consoles.
