Don't Starve: Pocket Edition

Don't Starve: Pocket Edition is a mobile version of a survival adventure game created by Klei Entertainment studio, known from the Shank series and Mark of the Ninja. The production, with a dose of humor and numerous references to the Victorian era, was published in a premium model.

Plot

Don't Starve: Pocket Edition is set in a wilderness (randomly generated before each game) where the main character, Wilson, is moved in by a cunning demon. Our scientist must use all his knowledge and skills to survive in this hostile world full of dangerous beasts and find a way back home.

Mechanics

The player's task is to help Wilson in his struggle with nature. The hero has to build a shelter, get food, light and sustain fire, construct tools, make clothes for himself. In a word - take care of everything that will allow him to survive in the surrounding ghostly reality.

We unlock new characters by making progress. Each of them has special abilities, such as fire resistance or increased strength.

Technical aspects

Like Klei Entertainment studio's earlier games, great emphasis was placed on comedy elements, which is evident in, e.g. the appearance of characters and locations, but also in various references to the pop culture. The 2D visuals are stylized as a cartoon with a distinct, comic style. The Pocket Edition version has a changed interface which now makes use of the touch screen.
