Sword of Fury we travel through a fantasy world, winning turn-based battles and trying to get rich to become victorious in the end. The game allows for both singleplayer and multiplayer gameplay (online or locally).
Dokapon! Sword of Fury is a production combining a board game and an RPG, belonging to a series that began in 1993. This is a remastered version of the game Dokapon! Fist of Fury released for the first PlayStation. The game was developed by Sting company. It was first released on the Nintendo Switch console, but in this version it was initially made available exclusively in Japan. It reached the West with a delay, in January 2025, along with the premiere of the release for PCs.
Story
Dokapon! Sword of Fury transports to a fantasy world governed by a false ruler - Wallace. When his identity is revealed, the true king assigns us the task of defeating all manifestations of the usurper.
Agreeing to this mission is for us only a pretext to accumulate a real fortune, because obtaining true wealth is our primary goal.
Gameplay
In Dokapon! Sword of Fury gameplay takes place on a board representing a fantasy kingdom. Watching it from a bird's eye view, we move across successive fields and the place we land on determines what we have to do next. Much here depends on luck, as the number of fields is determined by the draw at the beginning of each round. Similarly, the matter of who will attack first is decided by a coin toss.
Combat and money
Battles with opponents take place in turn-based mode. On our way, we encounter both characters of other players and monsters inhabiting the game world. When we land on a field occupied by an opponent, we start a skirmish. We choose one of the types of attacks, trying to match it in such a way as to exploit the enemy's weak points. Apart from regular enemies, from time to time we come face to face with powerful bosses.
As we progress, we develop the character and also gather better equipment. We find the latter in the world or purchase it from merchants. Money plays a leading role here and can be obtained in various ways. Although nothing prevents us from acting according to the law, we might as well commit theft and robbery.
Additionally, we are allowed to form alliances with other participants of the game (and leave them at the least expected moments), as well as participate in special tournaments and events. All this in order to be recognized as the richest of the heroes at the end of the game, thereby ensuring victory.
Game modes
In Dokapon! Sword of Fury we can play solo or in multiplayer mode for up to three people, locally or over the Internet.
Graphics and other technical features
Two-dimensional, pixel art graphics of the game Dokapon! The Sword of Fury have been preserved in their original form. The authors have focused on the illustrations and three-dimensional models, which have been refreshed.
Regardless of the mode we are playing in, we can pause the game and return to it at any time. This version has implemented a wide range of settings that allow us to customize the game to our individual preferences. This includes options related to the speed of the game and its balance.
