Release Date: cancelled
Strategy, fantasy, economic, RPG elements, indie games, singleplayer
Distant Kingdoms is a strategy game, in which apart from managing your settlement (which boils down to constructing buildings, production chains and fulfilling the desires of its inhabitants), we send to battle the team of heroes as in classic RPGs.
Distant Kingdoms is a strategy game enriched with clearly outlined RPG elements. The title was developed by the independent British team at Orthrus Studios and published by Kasedo Games.
Plot
Distant Kingdoms takes us on a journey to the fantasy world of Ineron, inhabited by people, elves, dwarves, and orcs. Each of these races is struggling with problems that could lead to its extinction. The task waiting for the players in an extensive story campaign is to make them bury the war axe and try to deal with the threat together.
Mechanics
In Distant Kingdoms the action was shown from bird's eye view. The pillar of the game is to control the development of the selected nation. During the game, we construct buildings, create settlements and towns, form efficient production chains and take care of the needs of people - from peasants, through craftsmen to the nobility.
As befits a fantasy land, Ineron is also home to all kinds of beasts like dragons, imps, trolls, and ghosts, and the brave heroes can deal with them. Heroes join together to form parties, which we send on expeditions like in classic RPGs; the end of their adventures is determined by the choices we make.
Technical aspects
Three-dimensional visuals of Distant Kingdoms were created with attention to detail. It is worth mentioning separately that the developers enable the aplayers to create modifications that introduce additional races or missions.
