Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia Description
Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia is a free-to-play role-playing game developed by Square Enix in cooperation with Team Ninja, the creators of the Dead or Alive series. The title was released on AND and iOS in February 2017 in Japan and in 2018 it received an English version.
Plot
Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia for AND and iOS takes place in the titular world of Opera Omnia. It was created by Spiritus and Materia as a resting place for warriors who fiercely fight on other planets. One day something weird happened to the time and space. This caused multidimensional portals to open. Monsters entered the paradise world and players are tasked with restoring the old order.
Mechanics
Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia isn’t a classic jRPG game. During the adventure players visit various locations on a few continents, but the exploration is limited to clicking on marked points in order to open treasure chests, trigger cutscenes and initiate combat.
The latter is the main part of the gameplay. Battles are turn-based. Players control a small group of characters with unique powers, symbolized by special icons appearing on the screen. What’s important, during the game players control one character and his allies, but the allies are accompanying the protagonist only for three turns.
One of the attractions of Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia for AND and iOS is a large variety of characters known from other entries in Final Fantasy series. During the adventure, players will encounter, among other characters, Bartz from Final Fantasy V, Cloud from Final Fantasy VII, Yuna from Final Fantasy X and Ace from Final Fantasy Type-0.
Technical aspects
Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia for AND and iOS is a three-dimensional game that uses the style typical for other entries in the series and for classic Japanese role-playing games. This means that during the game the players are facing giant heads, animals similar to wolves, and sirens.
