Disney Dreamlight Valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley is an adventure game and life sim, distributed in a free-to-play model with micropayments. It was developed by Gameloft.

Plot

Disney Dreamlight Valley takes us on a journey to the fantastic universe of Disney and Pixar, and more specifically - to the titular valley, which once was teeming with life, being home to characters from iconic cartoons. The happy time ended when the land was haunted by a cataclysm called Forgetting, which caused Night Thorns to grow in the valley, taking away the memories of its inhabitants. Nothing is left for them to do but to lock themselves in the Dream Castle and wait for rescue. Fortunately, not everything is lost yet, because we appear in the valley; now it's on our shoulders to rescue its inhabitants and restore the old order in this place.

Game mechanics

In Disney Dreamlight Valley we observe the action from the third person perspective (TPP). We travel through various kingdoms kept in a style typical for some Disney or Pixar's creations. In each of them we have to face numerous challenges, solve puzzles and perform tasks set before us. All this to save the inhabitants of Dreamlight Valley and bring them back to the valley.

The valley itself acts as a hub, to which we go between expeditions. In order to make this place vibrant with life again, we have to take care of its reconstruction, which involves the necessity of constructing new structures (and improving the already built ones) and decorate the area with thousands of decorative elements. Apart from that, nothing stands in the way of indulging in various activities in the company of the rescued characters; for example, we can do some work in the garden, which WALL-E will help us with, or go fishing with Goofy. We can capture the nice moments with the help of the photo mode implemented in the game.

Disney Dreamlight Valley features colorful graphics in a cartoon style taken straight from Disney's and Pixar's movies.
