Determinance Description
Determinance is the first game of the independent studio Mode 7 Games, founded in 2007 by Paul Taylor and Ian Hardingham. The ambition of the creators was to combine a dynamic action game and a simulation of a white weapon fight.
The game has been designed for multiplayer battles via LAN or the Internet. The game offers three play modes - one per one duel (Duel Arena), a battle with a maximum of eight participants (Free for All) and clash with bots controlled by computer artificial intelligence.
The creators of Determinance made seven playable characters and several types of white weapons, including swords and daggers, available to the player. Combat mechanics allows you to use a wide range of cuts, pushes and curtains, as well as develop your own combinations of attacks and defenses. The Feint Engine (modified version of Torque Engine technology), which uses, among other things, an advanced physics system responsible for simulating the range of human body movement (so-called ragdoll).
The visual setting of the game clearly stands out against the background of contemporary productions. This can be seen especially in an environment that is not very diverse and scarce in detail. Developers focused much more attention on the details of character models. The background music, which consists of Nervous Testpilot's songs, makes the fun more pleasurable.
