Destruction Derby 2

The second installment of Destruction Derbyworked by Reflections Interactive studio is a specific car race, in which drivers compete not for being the first at the finish line, but for destroying as many competitors as possible. Production improves many elements of the original.

Mechanics

Destruction Derby 2 differs from other racing games mainly by the rules of competition. The classification after each competition is not determined by the order of passing the finish line, but the number of points scored in total for the place occupied and the vehicles of competitors destroyed. The game rewards all successful attacks on rivals, as well as demolished cars. In addition to the traditional races on the tracks, the creators also prepared several arenas, where the aim is to remain the last driver with an efficient car.

In production, a model of damage, extended to those times, was used. Players can control the mechanical condition of their car by observing graphical indicators that color-coded the level of damage in nine parts of the driven machine.

The basic mode of play in Destruction Derby 2 are championships, in which drivers compete in four divisions of five each, collecting points in subsequent competitions. After a few rounds, the best of the league will be promoted higher and the weakest will be relegated. The goal of the players is to lead their driver to victory in the 1st division, starting from the weakest. The creators allowed not only to have fun on the principles described above, but also in a more traditional formula, in which points are scored only for the places taken at the end of the struggle. At any time the player can also prove himself in single competitions or competition with time or other people in multiplayer struggles through the network.

Technical issues

Destruction Derby 2 is a three-dimensional racing game maintained in a dark style. The right atmosphere of merciless rivalry is created by the soundtrack, on which there are strong sounds of thrash of metal bands Jug and Tuscan.
