Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles is an action game in which we fight one-on-one duels in small arenas against AI or other people. Inspiration for the game was a hit manga and anime based on it.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles is an action game developed by CyberConnect2 studio, known for such productions as Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven or Naruto: Ultimate Ninja series.
Plot
According to the title, the project is an adaptation of the popular Japanese brand Kimetsu no Yaiba, which was born as a manga and then lived to see an animated adaptation. In English-speaking markets it is known under the title Demon Slayer.
The game recreates in an interactive form the most important events from the comic book original. The action takes place in Japan at the beginning of the 20th century. It tells the story of a young man named Tanjiro, whose parents are murdered by a demon. What is worse, his sister, Nezuko, undergoes demonic transformation. To save her, the protagonist joins a group of demon hunters, hoping to find the monster responsible for this tragedy and discover a way to cure his sister.
Mechanics
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles is an action game where gameplay focuses on one-on-one battles in small 3D arenas.
The combat system is fully arcade and allows the use of many different attacks and maneuvers, as well as numerous special abilities.
Game modes
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles offers a single-player adventure mode, where as Tanjiro we have to win a series of duels, recreating the most important battles from the manga and anime.
Additionally, Versus Mode is available, allowing us to play independent battles. In this option we can choose any of the characters available in the game, not only Tanjiro. All warriors have unique fighting styles and special abilities.
In the case of Versus Mode it is possible to play against the artificial intelligence, as well as multiplayer games on a shared screen and over the Internet.
Technical aspects
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles offers attractive 3D graphics. It was made in a cartoon style, which faithfully imitates the look of animated adaptations of the brand.
