Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core Description
Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core is an FPS with heavy roguelike influence, set in the world of the best-selling game Deep Rock Galactic. Like the first game, it was developed by Ghost Ship Games.
Plot
Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core is set on the planet Hoxxes IV, where vast deposits of Expenite, an extremely valuable and useful resource, have been discovered. Once the mining facilities lose contact with their employers, the Deep Rock Galactic corporation sends in dwarven Reclaimers. They must discover what happened on Hoxxes IV and get the situation back under control.
Mechanics
Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core is a first-person game, focused on missions in procedurally-generated areas. At the start of each mission, we must choose a suit (each equipped with a unique active skill) and a gun. Once that's done, we can enter the drop pod, land and go into the mission area. Once we're through, we can't back out and must do our best to succeed.
The player must complete objectives and dispatch hordes of enemies, gradually making our way through successive levels of the excavation site. On the way, we find weapons and other gear abandoned by DRG's forces, as well as Expenite deposits, used to unlock temporary upgrades. Though we grow stronger with time, so do the enemies, and thus we are never safe.
Our base of operations is the RV-09 "Ramrod". Inside, we can research new weapons, suits and active skills to use during subsequent missions.
Game modes
Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core supports singleplayer, but only reaches its full potential in co-op.
Technical aspects
Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core retains the first game's colorful low poly artstyle. The game's greatest appeal is advanced environmental destruction.
