Death Game Hotel PC

Death Game Hotel is an unusual VR game difficult to clasify under a single genre. It was developed by White Owls, a studio founded by Hidetaka Suehiro, the creative mind behind the Deadly Premonition series.

Plot

Death Game Hotel is set in the titular hotel during Death Game 2000. The event is a secret tabletop game tournament, in which players bet not only chips, but also their own body parts. We play as one of the competitors, our goal being to come out on top and receive the promised reward: anything we could possibly dream of.

Mechanics

Death Game Hotel is a first-person game (FPP). The tournament consists of two different games, those being Goblet of the Reaper and Death Poker. Both are based on equally unusual rules and can take an exceptionally gruesome turn.

We must bet not only chips, but also our body parts - arms, eyes, ears, lips. Losing the game means we bloodily lose what we bet; each loss also comes with a specific side effect. The player can cheat to tip the scales in their favor. There are a number of dirty tricks we can use, such as checking the next card in the deck or covertly swapping cards in our hand. While cheating, we must be careful and not let our opponents spot it; they're also worth observing, as we can catch them cheating as well.

Game modes

Death Game Hotel supports singleplayer and multiplayer.

Technical aspects

Death Game Hotel makes use of a colorful, manga-like artstyle. The game is gory, violent and exceptionally bloody.
