Dead Space 3: Awakened is a feature extension of DLC to horror science fiction by Visceral Games. It introduces a new single player mini-campaign, which takes place after the events of the basic version of the game.

Dead Space 3: The Awakened is the first major add-on to Dead Space 3. It was produced by Visceral Games, also responsible for the original game, which is a part of Electronic Arts.

The action of this expansion takes place after the events of Dead Space 3. The add-on tells the tale of the fate of Isaac Clarke and John Carter yet again. The protagonists must first get out of the icy planet of Tau Volantis, and then return to the ship Terra Nova, the interior of which was, however, strongly altered. The vessel was taken over by unitologists who converted it into a demented church and decorated the walls of pieces of human bodies and necromorphs in order to honor the entity they referred to as the Voice. The survival odss are also lowered by the fact that the events of the final Dead Space 3 disrupted the mental stability of Clarke, so now both he and Carter are haunted by terrifying hallucinations. Their hallucinations are different though, so while playing in co-op mode, each player sees something else.
