Dead Realm for PC is an atmospheric, multiplayer-oriented survival horror game – two rival teams of ghosts and humans are competing against each other at a gloomy estate. The game was developed by an independent American Section studio. Although it mainly provided outsourcing services for such great companies as Gearbox Software, Infinity Ward, Atari, Disney, DreamWorks or Cartoon Network, the company created a few games for PCs and Apple’s mobile devices as well.

Story

Dead Realm for PC is set in an old estate belonging to a popular industrial magnate by the name of William Huxley. Nearly a hundred years earlier, the owner of the place brutally murdered his family (including his son William) and all the servants. Now, the ghosts of the dead family members and servants are haunting the place and making efforts to claim the lives of the undesired visitors. One day, a group of friends decide to explore the infamous estate, trying to find traces of the past, and solve the dark mystery of the house.

Gameplay

In Dead Realm for PC, the players are divided into two teams: the ghosts, and the human visitors. The gameplay resembles the classic hide-and-seek game, for the players are not equipped with any weapons, and the only way they can affect the situation is by interacting with the virtual environment. While the ghosts have to eliminate everyone who has entered the building, the human invaders are obliged to stay hidden or even run for their lives if necessary.

The concept of the gameplay is similar to what can be observed in Damned – a game developed by 9heads and released a few months earlier. It also bears some resemblance to the popular Garry's Mod sandbox, which includes the hide and seek mode. The game offers high-quality visuals. These are dark, suggestive and extremely atmospheric. The players can communicate via the VOiP system, which allows to share important information and see how others react to the in-game scares.
