DC Unchained for iOS and AND is a multiplayer action game developed by the South Korean 4:33 Creative Lab in cooperation with Warner Bros. The game has been based on the free-to-play business model with optional microtransactions.

Plot

The action of the game is set in the universe created by DC Comics for their comic books, animated series, and movies – nonetheless, the game is not directly linked to any particular production and utilizes themes from the entire franchise. During the game, players get to visit such locations as Gotham City and Metropolis as well as assume the roles of both Superheroes (including Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman) and Supervillains (featuring Joker, Lex Luthor, and Harley Quinn).

Mechanics

In DC Unchained for iOS and AND, the gameplay revolves around fighting hordes of opponents controlled by the AI and facing other players. During the game, one is tasked with assembling a team of three and participating in dynamic battles using unique sets of skills exhibited by each separate character. Developers have given at players' disposal over thirty heroes and villains one can lead to a battle in one of the several available game modes.

Game modes

DC Unchained for iOS and AND offers a number of game modes – the most prominent one being the Story Mode, in which players get to follow the story written by the developers. There is also Time Attack (allowing players to complete consecutive levels within a given time limit), Special Missions, Defense (fighting off enemy waves), and the PvP based modes.

Technical aspects

DC Unchained for iOS and AND delivers decent 3D visuals – the developers have decided to implement cartoonish style resembling animated series and comic books set in the DC Universe.
