CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Hard Evidence

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Hard Evidence is the fifth installment in an adventure game series based on a popular award winning crime TV drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation takes you to the world capital of gambling. Your job is to help the well-know characters from the TV series (including Gil Grissom, Nick Stokes, Greg Sanders and Catherine Willows) in solving criminal cases. To do this, you need to investigate crime scenes, collect material evidence, and then analyze it in a lab using advanced technologies (e.g. compare DNA codes, examine materials under the microscope or determine their chemical composition). You also interrogate suspects, learn about their connections with victims and crime scenes, and finally arrest the culprit.

The game features 3D graphics, allowing for full interaction with environment and thorough examination of locations, as well as first person perspective and tile-based movement. In-game progress is shown in short cut-scenes. At the end of each investigation, you get to view the full reconstruction of events.

The audio, including actors’ voices, comes directly from the TV show, which helps you immerse into the world and feel like you really are helping CSI detectives.

A novelty, as compared to the previous games, is implementing a large garage, where you can examine larger material evidence, like cars. The authors also implemented new locations and lab mini-games to expand the game time. Moreover, the user interface was slightly modified. The lower toolbar was replaced with a PDA.
