CS2D

CS2D is a dynamic shooter designed primarily for multiplayer gameplay. The game is distributed in a free-to-play model without microtransactions, and was developed by the independent studio Unreal Software.

Mechanics

In CS2D we observe the action from a top-down perspective. During the game, we take part in multiplayer battles with other players or fight in the company of bots. The core of the game is the elimination of the opponents using an extensive arsenal of firearms, including pistols, shotguns, machine guns, and sniper rifles; there is also room for more imaginative weapons, headed by a flame thrower, laser gun, a portal gun enabling us to teleport and a rocket launcher. All this is complemented by melee weapons - including a machete, an adjustable spanner and even a chainsaw. In addition, on the battlefield, we can use for example grenades, Molotov cocktails, and mines or finally various gadgets (for example in the form of a tactical shield), first-aid kits and bandages.

Game modes

CS2D offers a range of gameplay modes - from classic bombing, capture the flag, deathmatch, and team deathmatch, through rescuing hostages and killing VIPs, to the building mode (where we build fortifications and repel enemy attacks) and the Zombie mode (where we face zombies or become one of them and try to infect other participants of the game). In addition, a user-friendly map editor has been implemented in the game - the title is also open to modifications created by the players.

Technical aspects

CS2D features simple, two-dimensional visuals, adopting an eye-catching, cartoonish style - the whole thing is made in cel-shading technique.
