Cricket Captain 2021 is the twelfth installment of the sports game series, which is also a cricket team management simulator. It was developed by Childish Things Ltd, an independent studio that releases titles dedicated to this sport every year. The current installment has seen further improvements in gameplay, it also includes both international cricket championships.

Mechanics

As in previous installments of the series, the main objective of the gameplay is to manage a selected team in such a way that it achieves the best possible results during varied matches. To make the team successful, the player has to devise effective game tactics, create ideal team compositions, recruit new players and seek sponsors willing to support his team.

The current season includes the finals of the inaugural Test Match Championship, as well as the ODI World Championship, which gives teams the chance to qualify for the 2023 World Cup.

This part introduces many updates to the gameplay known from the previous installments. Cricket Captain 2021 features, among other things, a balanced engine and an updated batting aggression meter, allowing more control over the pace of scoring in all match types. A new RPO system (E. RPO) has also been introduced to the game, taking into account players' changing tactics to improve the accuracy of scoring rates. In 20-over matches, the developers have also improved the feature of providing information on the strength and performance of player-managed throwers. The database and national lineups for all 150 playable national teams have also been updated. The game also introduces Super Over, or one-over throws, played in the case of a tie in limited over matches.

The English domestic system notes the latest competitions and rules for foreign players. The game also features the South African domestic system, which introduces 15 new teams to the game. In addition, players have the option to play historical scenarios where England compete against India or New Zealand.

Game modes

The game allows both to play the campaign in single player mode and to participate in online PvP matches.

Technical aspects

The graphics of Cricket Captain 2021 consist primarily of numerous tables, charts and diagrams, facilitating efficient team management. During the match, however, the player has the opportunity to observe the course of the match, played by three-dimensional players on the detailed stadiums.
