Cricket Captain 2019 is a powerful simulator that enables you to control your own cricket team. The game belongs to a series whose roots go back to 2006 (when International Cricket Captain Ashes Edition 2006 was published) and introduces a number of changes to the original formula. Thank to the appropriate licenses, the game features more than 7000 players known from the real world. The development and publication of the title is the responsibility of Childish Things, which have been consistently developing the series since its inception.

Mechanics

In Cricket Captain 2019 the gamer plays as a cricket team manager. While leading your team, you will have to to make many choices, including financing, sponsorship, and recruitment of players. You will also decide on the line-ups and tactics for each game and define the strategy for the whole season.

In this installment of the series the devs added a number of new tactical elements. The list includes a new aggressive bounce setting, a running pace indicator, a revised one-day game engine, and another type of player (left-handed thrower - the SLW Bowler). The mechanics of contract awarding have also been improved.

The installment published in 2019 also brings an update to the database. This includes players, teams, and leagues from countries such as India, West India, England, Australia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand. For the first time in the history of the series in the game, you will also find players and teams from the South African league.

Cricket Captain 2019 can be played both solo and with others. The game offers the option to play a whole seasons and tournaments (also in new OD World Cup and Test Championship formats). A few historical scenarios are also at your disposal, such as the World Championships or the Australia versus England match.

Technical aspects

Cricket Captain 2019 features decent visuals. A large part of the game consists mainly of tables and other interface elements, but you also have the ability to supervise the meetings themselves. During the games on the pitch, the graphics arepowered by a three-dimensional engine, which quite realistically reflects both the athletes themselves and the arenas in which they play.
