A sandbox survival game produced by the independent Playful studio, based on the popular Minecraft. Creativerse is an online free-to-play production in which we explore worlds built of cubic blocks.
Creativerse is an online survival adventure game with a procedurally generated open world built of voxels. The game was developed by the independent Playful studio, whose main inspiration was Minecraft by Mojang AB. The game originally appeared only in paid version, but when it entered the early access on the Steam platform in 2014, it was based on a free-to-play model with optional microtransactions.
Mechanics
The game, like Minecraft, has no plot. This is a sandbox game that allows full freedom of action. Creativerse takes place in worlds made of cubic blocks, and the goals set by the players depend only on themselves. You can play as a collector of raw materials, get carried away by your imagination and construct more and more fancy buildings, explore locations with other users, find treasures, fight against the creatures you meet or deal with more down-to-earth things like baking food, harvesting crops or creating objects.
The heroes of Creativerse were equipped with a futuristic glove, which is used to extract raw materials and replaces the pickaxe known from Minecraft. In the game, you can use more than 400 unique blocks to build from scratch a huge interactive land with predetermined enemies revival times, tasks and dialog lines or save points. The worlds can be explored either alone or in a group of friends.
Technical aspects
Creativerse graphic style is reminiscent of Minecraft, but also boasts high quality textures or dynamic shadows and a more advanced lighting system. Special attention should be paid to the models and animations of characters and creatures that, unlike the world, were not built from blocks.
