Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, released on PS3, PSP and PSV, is the third part of the series of colorful platformers that have proved to be some of the most popular games in the history of PlayStation. Just like the two previous games, the third part was developed by Naughty Dog.
Plot
The plot of Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped is a direct continuation of the events shown in Crash Bandicoot 2. When the remains of the Cortex Vortex space station fall to Earth, they release a demon called Uka Uka - the evil twin brother of Aku Aku who is guarding the Wumpa Islands. He joins forces with Dr. Neo Cortex and the equally crazy Dr. Nefarious to use a time machine to move into the past and prevent Crash from stopping Cortex from gaining valuable power crystals. Crash and his sister Coco (a new playable character) also move in time using the same machine to thwart the evil plans of the villains.
Mechanics
The general rules of the game did not change significantly in comparison with the previous editions of the series. The action takes place in a full 3D environment, but the heroes can only follow a predetermined path. The game consists of 25 stages, divided into 5 different worlds - starting from the Middle Ages, through the Far East, Egypt and lands covered in water, up to typically futuristic levels. As in the previous games, Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped also has numerous collectibles and hidden bonus stages.
Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped on PS3, PSP and PSV platforms is characterized by a much greater variety of stages. During the game, there are levels in which we are chased by an angry dinosaur, and in some, we drive a motorbike, plane or scooter. In the course of the game, we are also helped by various animals, such as tigers or dinosaurs, which are ridden by the main characters. Crash received a number of new skills, which are usually a reward for defeating another boss. These include a double jump, a supercharged impact, a fruit bazooka, fast boots, and a deadly tornado.
