Cossacks II: Battle for Europe

Battle for Europe is the title of the first expansion for the second installment of the popular real-time strategy game series, Cossacks II: Napoleonic Wars for PC. The players are taken to the reality of one of the most turbulent periods in history which are the Napoleonic Wars (the 19th century).

Mechanics

Apart from the six contemporary superpowers known from Cossacks II (France, Great Britain, Austria, Russia, Prussia, and Egypt), the users of Battle for Europe can lead three completely new nations: Spain, Duchy of Warsaw, and Confederation of the Rhine. The designers at GSC Game World prepared a number of new units and buildings. In total, there are over 180 unique units and 190 buildings to choose from. The eponymous Battle for Europe mode, in which players fight for total domination over the Old Continent, was also greatly enhanced.

Moreover, the fans of the game received four new campaigns, ten battlefields, three historical scenarios to play (for example, the clash of Russian and French forces at Borodino in 1812 and the last battle of Napoleon at Waterloo in 1815), as well as six skirmish missions. The add-on also introduces new multiplayer maps.

Contrary to other similar productions, this is a standalone expansion and doesn’t require Cossacks II: Napoleonic Wars to be installed on the user’s machine.
