A strategy-arcade game in which we play the role of an adventurous pirate. The action takes place in the 18th century. We shell ports, take part in sea battles, trade in goods, look for treasure or fulfill orders of one of the then superpowers. The authors also offered extensive city development options and an advanced diplomacy system.
Corsairs: Conquest at Sea Description
Older gamers surely remember Pirates, a great game by Microprose, and its extended version, Pirates GOLD. The players could assume the role of adventurers on uneasy waters of Caribbean Sea. We pillaged cities, fought other ships, traded goods, searched for treasure, and enlisted with one of four superpowers of the 18th century.
Many years later, Microids decided to use that story to create a completely new game. In Corsairs, apart from the abovementioned activities (which were modified to better or worse result), the players gets many new possibilities, such as diplomatic and espionage operations or expanding conquered cities. The area of our action was also greatly extended; in this game, it covers the entire world. Alas, the developers failed to preserve the awesome atmosphere of the original Pirates.
