Congo Bongo is simply a clone of Nintendo's Donkey Kong product. Just like in the famous prototype, also here the player will play the role of a daredevil, whose task will be to reach the huge gorilla, first defeating all the traps lurking along the way.

The game has been divided into four stages with increasing difficulty level (the level of complexity of the game can be additionally modified in the main menu). In all the missions prepared by the authors of the game you have to stand face to face with the monkey, which boils down to a successful transition to the other end of the board. The action is observed in isometric projection. Our hero can climb to lower shelves and jump over small chasms and streams with water. In the course of the game, the option of hiding in molehills is also revealed, but it is only available in the third stage (Rhino Ridge). The player has to assess the threats on an ongoing basis and react quickly to them. In the course of the game we will, among other things, avoid balls thrown away by a malicious gorilla, as well as avoid venomous snakes. In crisis situations it will surely help the supply of additional "live".

Congo Bongo, in comparison to its prototype coin-op machines, does not present itself impressively. The sound is limited to Speaker's PC squeaks, while the graphic design is only four colors in CGA mode. Nevertheless, the conversion doesn't lose its playability.
