Cities: Skylines - Parklife Description
Parklife for {PLAT} is the fifth large (and fifteenth in general) expansion pack to Cities: Skylines – a very popular city builder developed by Colossal Order. Similarly to previous expansions, it requires the basic version of the game to work.
Mechanics
The Parklife DLC for {PLAT}, as its title suggests, focuses on various parks. The expansion enables the players to construct amusement parks with giant Ferris wheels and roller coasters, Zoos with exotic animals, nature parks perfect for long walks etc. The game provides great freedom when it comes to creating the parks. To make it happen, modifications were implemented to the construction system. In park districts (new available areas), the players don’t need to worry whether the constructions are close to the roads – being close to paths is enough. Various decorations can be placed anywhere.
The Parklife expansion introduced new building and objects to Cities: Skylines. Among them, there are fountains, flamingos, previously unseen types of trees, hedges, camping fields, and castles. For all of it to function properly, services like conservators are required.
The parks aren’t everything there is. The expansion expands the tourism mechanics. The players can create sightseeing tracks, set ticket prices and even create bus lines for the tourists.
To properly develop the city and its recreational areas the eleven new laws (three for metropolis and eight for parks) added in Parklife will be helpful. They are related to animal rights and regulations for the fireworks show.
The developers prepared five completely new maps on which players can create the cities of their dreams.
Technical aspects
Parklife expansion to Cities: Skylines for {PLAT} introduces new building and citizen models (tourists, mascots walking through the park etc.) Additionally, the players can buy a special version of the DLC, Parklife Plus, that includes 16 original scores.
Misc.
Some of the novelties introduced in Parklife expansion was added free of charge to the basic version of the game. This includes the new tourism panel, better camera modes and some improvements for mods.
