SimCity Description
SimCity for PC is another part of the famous city simulator series created by Maxis. The first episode was launched over two decades ago. You play as mayor of a newly formed city. Your basic task is to take care of its economy, trade and spatial development to make the city attractive and turn it into a great metropolis. Players had to wait over 10 years for the fifth part, but the game designers rewarded them with plenty of innovative features such as new graphics engine, more meaningful relations between various elements of the city and interesting solutions concerning online play.
The new engine, Glassbox offers free camera views and massive zoom (you can reach level of a single passerby), therefore you can check what is happening around the corner of a skyscraper or take a look at a window display. Glassbox offers an innovative solution both in terms of gameplay (winding roads) and its presentation (dynamic lights).
The game includes a mechanism simulating growth of real cities. All decisions concerning urban development directly translate into its population, real estate market, and air pollution or education rate. The game presents all the information on graphs explaining current situation thus proper steps against any emerging issues can be taken.
The fifth installment of the SimCity series draws a lot from previous games. It returns to three types of areas – residential, commercial and industrial. Moreover, the title features a multiplayer mode where players play within a common area. Players manage their region with friends, share the resources, cooperate to grow their cities and compete. Multiplayer is based on the ranking tables and achievement system that allows you to unlock new structural and architectural solutions.
Like other games published by EA, SimCity for PC includes complex social panel called CityLog, resembling e.g. Autolog (Need for Speed series) and Battlelog (Battlefield series). The tool enables comparing your performance to other players, watch the trends of the global game market and take up challenges.
