A DLC for Cities: Skylines, in which the authors focused on expanding elements related to the industry. In Cities: Skylines - Industries, players can create specialized districts and build unique buildings, such as warehouses and factories.
Industries is an expansion to Cities: Skylines, a popular economic strategy developed by Colossal Order. This time the authors focus on issues related to various industries.
Mechanics
In Cities: Skylines - Industries players can create specialized industrial districts: forest, mining, agricultural and refinery districts. The expansion allows not only to set up production chains from scratch, but also to build unique buildings like warehouses or factories (producing food, toys, furniture, cars and electronics). As the zones progress, they advance to the next level and increase their potential.
In addition, the authors allow us to delve deeper into issues relating to the import and export of goods, build roads and bushes out of postal and transport services. The list of novelties is completed by five new maps, as well as three new regulations related to the industry and four regulations concerning the functioning of the entire metropolis.
Technical aspects
Industries is a non-standalone add-on, so it requires the core version of the game to work. A new radio station, Synthetic Dawn Radio, was introduced in the add-on, thanks to which sixteen new songs can be heard during the gameplay.

Ultimately, this pack can make a player's city look the part of a modern capital trying to tread a difficult ethical line between industry and eco-friendly practices; it's just a shame that there isn't more of a progression and reward incentive for all players to properly interact with it.

Ultimately, Industries is a solid, but subtle addition to Cities: Skylines. It is a great choice for anyone looking to freshen up their now three-and-a-half-year-old game, and at the same time keeps itself understated enough where it is not a requirement for your enjoyment. This feels like a DLC package aimed at those long-term fans who have stuck with the title from the beginning, and it does help to make the experience that much more “yours”, so to speak. If you have been playing this game for a while and have already picked up the shinier DLC packages, then Industries is very much for you.
