Steam
A third-person cozy adventure game with elements of a simulation and an RPG, allowing to play alone or in coop mode on a shared screen. In Cinnabunny we play as a rabbit who's running their own bakery and cooking based on obtained recipes. We are also able to explore the surrounding world, meet other characters and take pictures.
Cinnabunny is a cozy adventure game with simulation and RPG elements, in which we run our own bakery. The game was developed by independent Reky Studios, founded by a single developer - Patrick Gauthier. Publishing this game was made possible partially thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.
Story
Cinnabunny transports us to a world inhabited by anthropomorphic rabbits. During the game, we take on the role of one of these animals. Our rabbit mother entrusts us the task of finding a new home. Our animal finally ends up in the heavenly Sugar Creek Burrows, and wanting to bring the rest of his family here, it must start working as soon as possible. The idea is to settle down in this new place and to own a bakery.
Gameplay
Running a bakery
In Cinnabunny we watch events from a third-person perspective (TPP). Our main task in the game is to take care of the bakery. We can learn recipes for bread, cakes and cookies. To bake them, we need ingredients, starting with flour, but also blueberries, nuts, spices or Easter eggs. We can obtain some of them without leaving home (for example, we can turn planted wheat into flour).
Exploration and missions
Acquiring most of the ingredients for our baking requires to explore the game's world. For example, eggs are hidden in the forest, whereas when searching for salt we have to go down to the underground. In addition to this, while exploring Sugar Creek Burrows, we get to know its inhabitants, with whom we can establish closer relationships (we strengthen ties by giving them gifts).
The game also implemented missions and activities unrelated to running a bakery. It allows us to photograph birds (whose occurrence depends on weather conditions, as well as time of year and day), search for rebellious recyclobots (we catch them in the net), and also collect mushrooms.
Rabbit development and decorating the house
As we progress, we polish our skills related to baking, collecting, bird watching, and recycling. After each trip, we return to the bakery, which is not only our workplace, but also a home that we can decorate and furnish to our liking.
Co-op
Cinnabunny allows for single-player gameplay or local cooperative mode (on a split screen) for up to two people.

The main cons of the game
- Co-op Limitations: The co-op mode has a significant design flaw where both players are tethered together, making it difficult for them to explore independently or complete tasks without being forced to follow each other.
- Price Concerns: Some players feel the game’s price point is too high for the content currently available, suggesting it might be better priced at a lower range.
- Repetitive Gameplay: After a few hours, some players find the gameplay can become monotonous, with a lack of diverse activities beyond baking and gathering.
- Lack of Clear Navigation: Players have expressed frustration over the absence of a minimap or clearer markers for NPC locations, making it difficult to find specific characters for quests.
The features or elements that are missing from the game according to users
- Improved Co-op Experience: Many players desire a more traditional co-op experience where players can enter buildings independently without being teleported together.
- Enhanced Customization Options: Users want more options for customizing their bunnies and homes, including the ability to wear multiple accessories simultaneously.
- More Depth in Gameplay: Suggestions include adding more diverse activities, quests, and character interactions to reduce the feeling of repetitiveness and to enhance engagement.
- Better Tutorials and UI: Some players feel that the game could benefit from clearer tutorials and a more user-friendly interface to help navigate its systems and mechanics.
Summary
- Overall, Cinnabunny is praised for its charm and relaxing gameplay, but it also faces criticism for certain design flaws and a perceived lack of content depth, particularly in its co-op mode.
