C.I.D. - Criminal Investigation Department PC

Quite a complicated adventure and detective game, the production of which is the responsibility of the Scandinavian company Pan Vision. The player plays the role of a person employed in the title department and has to solve the mystery of a murder committed earlier. The plot of the game is a strong asset of the program, during the investigation it turns out, among other things, that the event under investigation took place in unclear circumstances. The atmosphere of mystery is additionally intensified by a strange figure of a wolf's head found in the hand of the killed person. The hero has to take into account the passage of time, because there may be more brutal murders. The plot of the game was inspired by the psychological novel "Steppenwolf" by Hermann Hesse. She talked about the adventures of Harry Holler, who one day found a "Treaty on the Steppenwolf". The protagonist found in it an explanation of his dual spiritual nature. In the game you will find numerous references to the events described in the novel.

Unlike many other detective games, the action is not shown from the perspective of a third person or still cameras, but in isometric projection. It is worth mentioning that the visual setting of the game is not too complicated and is only supposed to be a background for the rest of the activities. At the bottom of the screen there is an interface with important buttons or people who can help to solve the murder puzzle. Some activities call up additional selection windows, depending on the situation, for example, a list of evidence or dialogue issues.

During the game, the player visits several places located in the city where the murder took place. These include the flats of the suspects, bars or luxury villas. The main character also meets many characters who have to be questioned in detail.
