The first cRPG by SSI that uses the rules of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, set in the world of Dragonlance. The war for Lance has ended, devastating lands that once flourished with life. Only a few beachheads that guard the western borders of Ansalon still remain. Alas, the evil was not completely destroyed, and the surviving knights are no longer able to repel it.
The player takes control of a party of heroes hired by the knights to perform many missions that ultimately lead to finding the eponymous Dragonlance. On our way, we will fight draconides, pilot a flying citadel, uncover secret treasures and artifacts, as well as talk to NPCs, including those known from the Dragonlance novels (half-elf Tanis, paladin Caramon, kender Tasslehoff).
The game was released after Pool of Radiance, offering EGA graphics without the enhancements of, for example, Pool of Darkness or Dark Queen of Krynn. It also comes with a feature of party transfering to subsequent games in the Dragonlance series, equipment included.
