Cats and the Other Lives is a 2D point and click adventure game, in which we have the opportunity to take the role of Aspen the cat and learn about the fate of the Mason family. As in every family there are disappointments, secrets, misunderstandings and unnecessarily spoken words. The game was developed and published by Cultic Games studios known for Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones.

Plot

The story in Cats and the Other Lives focuses on the fate of the Mason family who, due to an unfortunate event - the death of their grandfather Bernard - gather at the family estate to say goodbye to him. This causes fond memories to resurface, as well as old wounds and unfinished business that have been lingering among family members. Taking on the role of Aspen the cat, we gradually learn the secrets of the family, delving into the history of several generations.

Mechanics

Cats and the Other Lives is a point and click adventure game focused on using typical cat behaviour appropriate to the situation, such as chasing mice or dropping objects, but also observing and listening to the conversations of family members. It all takes place inside a vast mansion and its gardens, where, with our special abilities, we can also see fragments of its inhabitants' past, in the form of a flashback visible only to us.
