Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls is an action title with RPG elements, created by Konami. In contrast to other games from the Castlevania franchise – mainly for PC and consoles – this production was published exclusively on Apple iOS.
Plot
The main hero of Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls is Genya Arikado who is working for a top-secret Japanese government organisation. The protagonist receives a letter saying that defeated Count Dracula may soon come back to life. Having the power to overcome Count again, the hero decides to face the enemy. Moreover, he is not alone, as he can rely on Lucy – a scientist specialised in magic. Apart from the mentioned characters, the game features the heroes known from the former instalments, such as Alucard, Simon Belmont, Charlotte Aulin, Shanoa, and Maria Renard.
Mechanics
Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls utilises the side view. During gameplay, we pick the character we want to control, travel through gloomy locations, and fight tons of opponents. The money we earn can be spent on the development of the hero, which makes meeting more serious challenges possible.
Game modes
Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls offers both multiplayer and single player. The production features cooperation for up to four players whose mission is to beat bosses and 4v4 team battles.
Technical aspects
The 2D visuals in Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls are kept in a cartoonish style. The soundtrack is composed of the songs recorded for previous instalments in the series.
