Cartel Tycoon is an economic strategy focused on developing a drug empire. This is the debut game of the Moon Moose studio. The game was released by tinyBuild Games, which has such titles in its portfolio as Streets of Rogue, Pathologic 2 and Hello Neighbor.
Plot
The action presented in the Cartel Tycoon takes place in the 1980s in an alternative version of Latin America. During this time, there is a sharp increase in the demand for different types of drugs. The player takes on the role of one aspiring "businessman" who is trying to benefit from it.
Mechanics
In the Cartel Tycoon, the player's task is to expand his own business. He must choose a place to grow one of the available drugs in the game (e.g. cannabis and cocaine), hire workers and arrange smuggling routes for the finished product. In addition, it is also necessary to deal with running a legitimate business that covers up criminal activity. The action takes place on a procedurally generated map, on which the player can place a number of different buildings, such as laboratories, farms or shops.
However, the development of the drug empire is not a safe task. The player has to fight against other "entrepreneurs" who want to liquidate him and take over his influence. In addition, law enforcement agencies should also be avoided.
