Carmageddon Video Game Series
A series of arcade car races focused on spectacular driving and destruction of the environment. The series was created by the British studio Stainless Games, which oversees its development.
The beginning of the series Carmageddon date back to the mid-1990s and the unrealized project 3D Destruction Derby. The first game in the series - Carmageddon was released in 1997 on PC (conversions for other hardware platforms were created a few years later). The work of the Stainless Games studio quickly found fame due to its gameplay mechanics, which aroused great controversy. Just a year later, a sequel was released - Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse Now, and in 2000 players lived to see the release of the third installment of the series - Carmageddon TDR 2000. Carmageddon TDR 2000. Further development of the brand was halted for several years. Only in 2012, thanks to the support of users of the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, the creators managed to raise the funds (more than $ 600 thousand) needed to complete work on the reboot of the series -. Carmageddon: Reincarnation.
The plot of the games in the series Carmageddon is inspired by the cult film Death Race 2000 from 1975. Players take on the roles of drivers participating in extremely dangerous car races, in which no rules apply. The game focuses on developing insane speeds and destroying competing cars.
What causes the most controversy is the gameplay mechanics, which rewards, among other things, crashing passersby and animals. As a result, the first installment of the series was met with negative feedback from censor organizations, which forced a change in age classification, and in some countries even the replacement of overly drastic scenes (for example, in copies of the game intended for the British market, passersby were replaced by zombies and robots).

A mobile version of the well-known Carmageddon racing series, famous for its grotesque, over-the-top violence and black humor. This game was produced by the original creators, i.e. Stainless Games. Carmageddon: Crashers is different from the core installments in the series. Instead of classic races we get an unusual variation on drag racing. In this case, cars start from the opposite sides of the track and rush their way forward until they run into each other. The speed and stats of the cars determine which one wins the crash. As a game, Carmageddon: Crashers is not too different from other representatives of the drag race genre – the player is unable to turn, as the control over the car is limited to shifting gears at the right time and only slightly adjusting the course. Carmageddon: Crashers offers a wide range of cars that can be modified to a large extent by installing better parts and changing the look of the machine. Another important feature is the sponsorship mechanics.

Another installment in the brutal and controversial racing game series which dates back to 1997. The things that count in Carmageddon include not only your score, but also the damage you inflicted, and the number of pedestrians you ran over. It was developed by Stainless Games, the creators of all the previous titles in the franchise as well as a number of productions from the Magic: The Gathering franchise. The gameplay mechanics of Carmageddon: Max Damage do not deviate significantly from the solutions employed by its predecessors; we participate in a murderous racing tournament in which we fight for victory as well as survival. The gameplay is purely arcade. We are given a wide selection of maps and vehicles as well as more than 90 various power-ups that can be found on the racing arenas. The game offers several single player and multiplayer modes with different victory conditions.

An arcade racing game, which is a new installment in the controversial Carmageddon series. The game was developed by Stainless Games with the financial support of the users of the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. Similarly to the first Carmageddon game from 1997, Reincarnation enables the players to participate in unusually gory races. The objective is not only to be the first at the finish line, but to cause more destruction and casualties among the pedestrians than the opponents as well. The driving model used in the game and the vehicle destruction system are both action-focused. In comparison to the previous entries in the series, the gameplay was made more varied by greatly expanding levels, filling them with secret places and unusual power-ups, and by offering a diverse list of characters and vehicles. Among the latter there are vehicles well known from previous games in the series and some completely new ones.
