Cards and Castles Description
Cards and Battles, released on AND and iOS, is an interesting combination of a card game and turn-based strategy. The production is the debut work of Bit Mass studio and is available in a free-to-play model with optional microtransactions.
Mechanics
The gameplay in Cards and Battles is divided into two stages. The first one is related to the construction of the deck, or deck of cards used in duels. The title mixes the fantasy convention with other popular themes, so that the player's deck may include units representing five different factions - Vikings, Crusaders, Pirates, Warlocks and Ninjas. With the help of cards, the player can also use special attacks, including various spells. To be successful, it is necessary to skillfully combine the characteristics of all five factions.
Cards and Battles resembles the extremely popular Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. However, everything changes when a player moves to the battlefield. The duels are played like turn-based strategies such as Hero Academy. We get to the arena consisting of five square rows of fields and, as we play cards, we place units on them and launch attacks. The goal of the game is to destroy the opponent's base, which, of course, is not a simple thing and requires a smooth combination of attacks and effective planning.
Game modes
Cards and Battles offers many forms of fun. You can play extensive solo campaigns, as well as multiplayer modes, allowing you to participate in ranking and friendly matches. What's interesting, the multiplayer allows competition not only in real time, but also in asynchronous mode, so that the battles can be prolonged without the fear of ending a fight prematurely.
