Game mechanics
Most of the games included in the collection are classic 2D fighting games, in which we fight one-on-one battles choosing from a rich gallery of characters with unique abilities.
Thanks to the collection we can play all five installments of the horror-inspired Darkstalkers series (Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors, Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge, Vampire Savior: The Lord of Vampire, Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers' Revenge and Vampire Savior 2: The Lord of Vampire, the last two of which have never been released outside of Japan). The set also includes the first home version of the fantasy-themed brawler Red Earth. In Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness we can take part in robot fights.
The collection also includes Hyper Street Fighter II, which is an extended version of the classic fighting game, and Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix, a spin-off of the popular series, in which the characters have caricatured designs, and the style is much more humorous than in traditional installments of the brand.
An unusual element of the set is Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, which is the only puzzle game in this collection. In it, players must match gems falling from above in sequences of the same type, which activates the warriors' attacks.
Game modes
All games included in the collection offer both single player and multiplayer modes, which we can play locally or over the Internet.
Technical aspects
The games available as part of the Capcom Fighting Collection have been enriched with many improvements that make the gameplay more enjoyable. In addition to the introduction of online multiplayer, each game has a spectator mode that allows us to watch the games of other players. All fighting games, except Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, also received a practice mode.
The developers also implemented a number of gameplay balance improvements to the games in the collection, and a save option in the middle of the match.
An additional attraction is the virtual museum offering more than 500 graphics and documents from the production of the games included in the set, and more than 400 music tracks from their soundtracks.
