Plot

In the game the player assumes the role of the titular candle that can burn for only ten seconds. However, fire is protagonist’s only weapon during the long and dangerous journey in search for a far away light.

Mechanics

The gameplay mechanics of Candleman for PC, PS4 and etc. are based on typical solutions from other three-dimensional platform games. During the game the player is traveling through dark and mysterious locations filled with many traps and various dangers. Most of the riddles encountered in the game are based on the light and shadow mechanics. The key to success lies in using the ten-second fire of the candle to light the closest surrounding and to find a safe path to the exit. Other candles encountered during the journey can help in achieving the goal as they can burn with no time limits.

Technical aspects

Candleman for PC, PS4 and etc. features attractive, dark visuals. During the game the player frequently moves in total or almost total darkness. This, together with various light effects, suggestive sounds and atmospheric soundtrack, gives the game an unusual tune.
