Candle: The Power of the Flame

Candle is a debut production of independent Spanish Teku Studios created on Unity 4 engine. The game skillfully combines elements known from classic platformers and the most dynamic adventure games, all in a beautiful and original graphic design. The title draws on the classic games (Heart of Darkness or the Oddworld series), while bringing some fresh ideas to the genre.

We play the role of Teku, a young and inexperienced shaman's disciple. We travel through a family village attacked by an enemy tribe of Atipax. Our mission is focused primarily on saving surviving friends, but at the same time we will be able to discover the dark truth about the past, which has been hidden for a long time.

The mechanics of the game resembles classic adventure platform games. As you can easily guess, an important and innovative element of the game will be the title candle. Our protagonist uses it in order to find hidden traces and clues. You will have to take proper care of the burning fire, because although extinguishing it does not mean the end of the game, it still makes it very difficult to solve the riddles.

Characteristic feature of Candle is a captivating graphic design, created from beginning to end by hand. All scenes, objects and menus were painted using poster paints and then scanned. The same applies to animations of characters that have not been prepared by computer, but in a traditional way. Each subsequent frame of animation was painted by hand, just like in classic cartoon films.
