Call of Duty: WWII - United Front

Call of Duty: WWII – United Front is an expansion for a 2017’s World War II shooter Call of Duty: WWII. As was the case with the base game, the add-on has been developed by Sledgehammer Games studio.

Game mechanics

As two previous big expansions, Call of Duty: WWII – United Front focuses solely on expanding on the multiplayer content of the base game. As such, there are no revolutionary gameplay changes, nor any additions to the story campaign.

The DLC introduces three new maps for PvP matches, all inspired by real battles of World War II: Market Garden, Stalingrad, and Monte Cassino. It also adds a new mission for the War mode named Operation Supercharge, featuring Allies’ landing operation in Tunisia. It starts with recapturing of a small village from Nazis followed by blowing up a bridge, which is an important part of the enemy’s supply line. The mission ends with an offensive on fortified positions of the Axis forces.

Of course, Call of Duty: WWII – United Front features a new chapter for Zombie mode – The Tortured Path. It tells the story of a desperate expedition of General Rideau, who tries to cover a distance of two thousand miles between Berlin and Spanish port in Malaga controlled by Allies to deliver fragments of emperor Barbarossa’s sword. The commander hopes that the weapon will help with unveiling a secret which can be used to defeat Nazi’s zombie army. This story is divided into the game between three huge locations.

Technical aspects

Call of Duty: WWII - United Front isn’t a standalone expansion, meaning it requires the base game. There are no audiovisual changes – it retains the base, high quality.
