Ascendance is the second DLC pack for the first-person shooter Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare released on PC, PS4 and etc. in November 2014. The expansion is included in the title’s season pass. Just like the original game, the PC, PS4 and etc. version of the add-on was created by Sledgehammer Games.
Misc.
First of all, the DLC offers four new multiplayer maps. Expand is a modular apartment complex in Sidney, in renovation by drones. Site 244 is a UFO crash site shadowed by the famous Mount Rushmore. The Climate map is a climate-controlled bio dome built within a utopian city (you should be careful for the river that flows across the map, which suddenly turns into deadly acid). Chop Shop, in turn, is a black market in an industrial district, where illegal exoskeleton parts are sold. Interestingly, on all these maps you can make use of the Exo Grapple, a gadget known from the story campaign, used for quickly getting to strategic points or as a brutal alternative weapon.
Another important novelty is the second chapter for the cooperation-based Exo Zombies mode, entitled Infection. This time players are thrown into a small town near a research facility of the Atlas Corporation, where they got to in the first chapter. On the heroes’ way stand some new opponents (e.g. the huge Goliath Exo Zombie), but they can also lay their hands on a new weapon: Magnetron Microwave Gun. Another feature is the extra game mode called Civilian Extraction Mode, in which you help evacuate civilians from a danger zone.
A new weapon was also added to multiplayer. This time it is a two-in-one OHM energy rifle, which can be used either as a light machine gun or shotgun (two firing modes changed on the fly). Owners of the Ascendance expansion for PC, PS4 and etc. also get an alternative skin for that weapon, called OHM Werewolf (which has a different camo than the original).
