[1:10] Broken Alliance - Gameplay Trailer
Broken Alliance Description
Broken Alliance is a turn-based strategy with RPG elements and enhanced with solutions native to card games. The production was developed by Placeholder Gameworks, an independent studio from Estonia with a portfolio of Death and Taxes games. The source of inspiration for this project were the titans of the genre, led by the Heroes of Might and Magic, King's Bounty, Age of Wonders, Master of Magic and Disciples series.
The plot of
Broken Alliance takes us to the fantastic world of Eol, which as a result of the abuse of magic is on the brink of extinction. In the course of the game we become the head of one of the factions shaking it, and our task is to save it before it is annihilated. How the further fate of the land will turn out depends largely on our actions and the choices we make.
Gameplay
The gameplay in Broken Alliance starts with the creation of a character and the choice of a side in the conflict. While the representatives of Paradise live in harmony with nature, Forge is a technological superpower, Anchorage are traditionalists, while Phobos is a faction of fanatics. Then there is nothing left for us to do but to throw ourselves into the vortex of adventures, driven by tasks that push the plot forward and personal missions of the heroes.
Like in classic representatives of the genre, during the game we watch the action from a bird's eye view. Controlling one of the characters, we traverse locations and interact with objects, discover artifacts, take over buildings or, finally, recruit units and fight enemies. Our command center is the city, which we expand as we progress.
Skirmishes take place in turn-based mode, in arenas covered with a grid of hexagonal p?les. During them we play cards that allow us to, among other things, use artifacts and make use of certain powers and attacks of individual units. Over time, we expand the deck, which expands our range of plays available on the battlefield.
Graphics
The graphic design of the Broken Alliance game was done in pixel art technique.
