Brewmaster is a simulation game about home brewing. The game was developed by Auroch Digital studio, and was published by Sold Out.
Mechanics
In Brewmaster we observe the action from a first person perspective (FPP). The gameplay takes place in a home brewery, and during it we play the role of a brewmaster. An extensive list of various types of beer, such as IPA, stout, blonde or wheat, awaits brewing.
Their preparation involves the necessity of using a fermenter and adding specific ingredients (and thus the necessity of choosing the right malt type, adding the appropriate amount of hops or choosing the right yeast to start fermentation). Then we have to decide on the visual aspects of our beer (for example choosing the colour or the height of the head), the aroma and finally the taste. Players, for whom all this seems complicated, can stick to the in-game recipes and follow the ready made ones. Seasoned brewers, on the other hand, can let their imagination run wild and brew beers based on their own ideas. Once the beer is ready, there is nothing left to do but to crown your work by bottling it, coming up with a catchy name and designing an attractive label.
We can showcase our creations to a wider audience at regional competitions and send them to local breweries. Our successes earn us beer tokens. They serve as currency which we can spend on buying new equipment for our brewery. In combination with our increasingly better skills, this expands the range of our brewing possibilities and thus increases the chances for further success.
Game modes
There are two game modes to try out in Brewmaster. The story-based Brewmaster Mode lets you take on the role of a novice brewer and hone your brewing skills as you go along, while the sandbox-based Creative Mode lets you brew a variety of beers at will, with no targets or financial restrictions to meet.
Technical aspects
Brewmaster has a relatively simple, but clear graphics. The brewing process is supervised by an advanced system, which makes sure that everything runs according to chemical laws.
